About
Miss Jenny

Teacher Jenny has been working with children ages 0-5 since 2005 and is deeply committed to providing a nurturing, play-based learning environment. As the owner of Miss Jenny’s School, LLC, she has created a space where children can explore, discover, communicate, and grow as self-learners through nature and creativity. Teacher Jenny believes in the power of teaching through play, where each child’s curiosity leads the way to meaningful learning experiences.
Collaboration
Teacher Jenny is an advocate for fostering parent involvement and sees this as essential for helping children grow, thrive, and learn. She encourages family engagement by inviting parents to participate daily, hosting family potluck events, and organizing a monthly story time for the community.
Nutrition
By setting the example with a student-maintained garden and daily homemade meals, Teacher Jenny believes that nutrition is crucial to developing healthy, strong bodies and minds. She teaches her little learners about the importance of whole, garden-fresh foods and encourages them to “eat the rainbow” at every meal.
Licensing
Miss Jenny's School is a fully licensed childcare provider, committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and care. We maintain certifications in Certified Family Care, CPR and First Aid, food handling, and are enrolled in the state background registry. We work hard to ensure a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for every child.
Education
Teacher Jenny holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and has dedicated countless hours to ongoing professional development. She completed a two-year course with the ZERO TO THREE program, focusing on infant and toddler development. Additionally, Teacher Jenny has completed several courses on teaching children with neurodiversity through Northwest Regional Education Service District and Portland State University to better understand how to create a fully inclusive program.
The other stuff
Beyond her work with children, Teacher Jenny is an accomplished musician, playing the saxophone and clarinet in several musical groups. On weekends, you’ll often find her running with her tiny dog, Lucy, camping, paddling, or exploring the great outdoors. She values spending time with her family and friends and cherishes the connections she builds both inside and outside her in-home childcare and school.
